KIDZPLAY BASKETBALL

Florence Avenue Foursquare Church invites the community to participate in a youth basketball league. Our league emphasizes sportsmanship, skills, character and spiritual values, participation at every game, positive coaching and FUN.   The league is 8 weeks long with one practice and one game per week. The season will be starting on Saturday, Jan. 22nd. Practices will begin the week of Monday, Jan. 12th. Dates subject to change.

Volunteer Coach / Referee

For just a few hours a week you can make a positive impact on a child’s life. Coach and/or Referee We provide the training. Kidzplay is blessed with the service of our volunteers. Contact Eddie Barrios at (562) 387 - 5000  or email kidzplay@fafc.org.

  • In person sign-ups, Jersey sizing, practice, and games will all take place at the FAFC gym.  The gym is located in the parking lot behind the Church.

Frequently asked questions:

  • What are the age ranges / divisions? 
    • The age range to play Kidz Play is from Pre-K (4 years old) to 8th grade.
    • Divisions:
      • Half Pints:  Pre-K (4 years) to 1st Grade
      • Pee-wee:  2nd Grade to 3rd Grade
      • Minors:  4th Grade to 5th Grade
      • Majors:  6th Grade to 8th Grade

  • Where can I find the waivers:
  • Jersey sizing:  Do you already have a Kidzplay approved jersey that you intend to use?
    • Yes:You do not need to show up for jersey sizing since you already have a jersey that you intend to use for the season.  Please ensure that you have communicated your jersey number to the Kidz Play team.  This should have been completed during registration.
    • No: Please ensure that you show up to one of the sign up dates for jersey sizing, even if you have completed the online registration.

  • Do I need to attend Tryouts?
    • Tryouts will take place only for the Majors division.  The other divisions will not need to attend tryouts.

  • I would like to volunteer
    • Kidz Play needs volunteers!   We invite you to participate as a coach, referee, team parent, or other volunteer.  We can't do it without you!  Please visit again soon for more details on how to sign up as a volunteer.
