Most of us have probably experienced it. Those times where you’ve arrived somewhere and felt like you didn’t know anyone and possibly no one knew you. It’s an awkward feeling, to say the least even for the most outgoing people. Chances are you ’ve been there at an office event, special gathering, or even church. That is why one of our greatest desires is to be a place where people can be known as well as belong.
In the Bible, we often find God doing new things in the life of believers. New starts, new hearts, and new plans are a few of the many things God will do in us. From God’s pronouncement in Genesis to the end of Revelation, God goes from a new start to finally a new heaven and earth. At the heart of the Christian belief is the truth that God can change us. While we live in a world that attempts self-help changes and we can easily become believers that try to change ourselves, only Christ can truly transform our lives. We are currently in a series called, “Grow Up!” In the book of Romans 12, we find Paul reminding the church that God’s desire is to supernaturally transform us in a world that will naturally conform us. The result is believers that become more like Him. We find Christ is willing to help us when we ask.
