We are committed to LIVING IN and BRINGING OTHERS INTO a RIGHT RELATIONSHIP with JESUS CHRIST through SELFLESS SERVICE.
People everywhere are in need of stability, wisdom, and peace in their lives, and we know Jesus Christ is the answer.
“Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock.” (Luke 6:47 – 48 NKJV)
“Till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ.” (Ephesians 4:13 – 15 NKJV)
Our Mission is to glorify God in word and life as we present the: Message of reconciliation, produce Maturity in relationships with Christ and others, participate in Ministry through released gifts in the Church, and partner in Missions by reaching out to our community and world.
The heartbeat of Florence Avenue is our People. We believe every member is a Minister. Everything we do is important to Him.
“(God has given)…some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of ministry, so that the Body of Christ may be built up until we all…become mature…like Christ.”
(Ephesians 4: 11 – 13)
“Now God gives us many kinds of special abilities…and there are different kinds of service to God (ministry)…All of you together form the one Body of Christ and each of you is a separate and necessary part of it.” (1 Corinthians 12:4 – 5, & 27)
(John 3:17) Florence Avenue is a grace-based church. Jesus came into the world to love people (and not to condemn them). He has asked us to accept people for whom they are and allow God to change them into whom he wants them to be. It is in this atmosphere that people find the greatest healing and hope in Christ.
(1 John 4:11) We are called to live in loving accountability and as a community rather than independently. We value our relationship with God and relationship with others and believe both are necessary in growing spiritual maturity.
(Matthew 28:19 – 20) God desires that all people should come into a relationship with Him through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and invites us to function as His representatives in our homes, neighborhood, church, work and world.
(Romans 12:1) We believe that worship from the beginning is not only an expression of our lives to God through singing, prayer, and acts of obedience but a lifestyle that should be lived as we grow closer to Christ exhibiting His life in us in our personal lives, relationships, church, and touch upon the world.
(2 John 1:4) God’s Word reveals not only His truth to us but that Jesus Himself was the embodiment of truth (John 7:14). Through a relationship with God, He reveals and refines the truth in us so that we can know the truth, experience truth and walk in the truth of Who He is and a life that is pleasing to Him. lives are shaped by God’s Word in grace and truth.
(Acts 1:8) But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
